Antichi Dolci di Siena is a family run company that produces top quality cakes and biscuits faithful to the Tuscan tradition. Panforte is a very traditional Italian cake, perhaps one of the oldest sweets in Italy, dating back to 13th century Siena, Tuscany. Made with the finest Italian ingredients, almonds, honey, candied fruit.

Created by Giovanni Parenti, it is said that the idea of adding cocoa was probably to follow the fashion of the Sacher Cake. It is also known as the Panforte delle Dame, Panforte of the Dames, as it has a lighter taste than the original Panforte. Panforte is soft, slightly chewy and sometimes a little sticky, but irresistible.

Normally enjoyed in winter, perhaps with coffee and liqueurs after a meal. Served as small slices.
