Often considered one of the highest quality Arabicas in the world, Yirgacheffes are fragrant, with sweetness and spice.

Our Yirgacheffe is medium roasted with a floral aroma and clean, complex flavour with bright acidity and notes of wine, chocolate, and citrus.

Yirgacheffe coffee is a wet-processed coffee grown at elevations from 1,700 to 2,200 meters above sea level and is considered the best high-grown coffee in southern Ethiopia, a region known for fine coffees. These elevations qualify Yirgacheffes as Strictly High Grown (SHG) / Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) coffees – elevations that allow the coffee to grow more slowly and therefore have more time to absorb nutrients and develop deeper flavours based on the local climate and soil conditions.

Perfect brewed in a cafetiere and filter.

An adventure of flavour

Yirgacheffe coffees are the flavour punks of the coffee world. I've had many and it's one of my fave types. This version is one of the best I've had. Light and bright, a hint of milk chocolate and loads of orange peel, totally unique. Completely smooth at the same time.
No other coffees do what yirgacheffe does in flavour terms. Algerian Coffee stores has really nailed it with their choice of bean and roast. This is as fine an example of this coffee type as you will find.
It's an exciting and vibrant coffee, and it's going to be one of our regulars at home now.

The best coffee ever…

I have had a lot of coffee in many places across the globe… but this is without a doubt the most pleasant. It is a perfect morning coffee, both awakening and refreshing - lovely berry aftertaste. The service from the Algerian coffee house is also rapid and arrives well packaged.
