About Us

Algerian Coffee Stores first opened its doors in 1887 and still stands proudly on its original site in the heart of Soho, London.

The first owner was an Algerian gentleman, from where the store name was borne.  The business changed hands in the 1920’s and once again in 1946, and today remains in the same family! We are proud to be a third generation, family run, independent business.

This is us back in the 80's, that's Dad, aka Paul, and us two girls, Daniela & Marisa.

To this day the store still features the original shop fascia, authentic 19th century wooden shop counter and bespoke shelving, and throughout the building there are many original or historical details. We have many old signs and pricelists still hanging and a lovely gallery of our old photos in the store. But if you can’t visit us have a look at our gallery here to see some of our lovely pictures.

We offer a wide range of single origin coffees as well as exclusive house blends and limited-edition coffees. We also have a large selection of speciality teas and delicious confectionery. All of which we proudly supply to both retail and wholesale customers, all over the world.

All our coffee is freshly roasted, twice weekly and is prepared and bagged to order.

Throughout our history Algerian Coffee Stores has seen two World Wars, two pandemics, terror attacks, gentrification, and many other movements, and we are so honoured to still be here. If only these walls could talk!
