The website description is pretty accurate. Thick silky body for sure, like a light syrup when brewed (in aeropress).
Definitely notes of tobacco in the dry coffee, but that really becomes subtle once water hits it. Cocoa for sure, but we are talking 90% dark Peruvian chocolate. Really spicy, on the Christmas cake side of spice, cinnamon, clove, allspice, some dark fruit, a little campfire smoke. There is a sweetness there too, but it's a molasses sweetness.
It's a pretty punchy cup, the robusta bitterness is there, but it's not a lot, and it is tempered by the silky syrupy mouth feel, so it feels coherent to the taste rather than something that hits after and taints the experience.
Caffeine sure packs a wallop.
This is a nice departure, and a great example of how good robusta can be.
Dark, spicy, complex, thick, punchy.
A very grown up coffee.
