This family-run estate has been producing coffee for the past thirty years, located near Mareeba, approximately 55km to the west of Cairns in the Atherton Tablelands of northern Queensland, Australia. Located on the top of the Great Dividing Range approximately 520 metres (1706 feet) above sea level, Skybury has well-drained soil, no frost, and an annual rainfall of around 800mm per year. This provides the ideal climate for growing their Bourbon variety of Arabica coffee. Skybury is Australia’s main exporter of coffee.
Every year in October, Skybury’s 90,000 coffee trees spectacularly flower. The flowers’ perfume is likened to the heady scent of jasmine.
The farm produces approximately 40 tonnes of green coffee per year. And over 7 million kilos of papaya!
