Made with the finest Italian ingredients: almonds, honey, candied fruit and spices. Panforte is soft, slightly chewy and sometimes a little sticky, but irresistible.

Panforte is a typical sweet from Siena with ancient origins. Originally created by the nuns in a medieval convent in honour of a visiting Pope, this Italian sweet has since been a staple in its tradition. The first written record of this sweet dates back to the year 1000 and it used to be a delicacy only amongst noblemen, the rich and the clergy. It is typically enjoyed over the festive season, perhaps with coffee and liqueurs after a meal, delicious also paired with soft cheese served as small slices. A lovely gift to serve and share at a dinner party (or to delve into on your own!)
