Very dark roast, absolutely delicious. Tried lots of beans and blends and this is my favourite.

Thanks to Appleby's in Didsbury for introducing me to this.

My absolute favourite breakfast coffee

Since I first heard about this blend about 40 years ago from the restaurateur Terence Conran – who mentions it several times as his favourite – this has been my absolute go-to morning coffee.
I carry packets of it with me when I travel.
It smells like Juliette Greco breakfasting from an octagonal green cup, alongside a freshly baked croissant, on a balcony of the hotel ”La Louisianne" in St Germain-des-Près, in the days when she lived there alongside Miles Davis, Albert Camus & Boris Vian.
(Gitanes cigarettes are no longer compulsory; they’re now only an optional extra.)
I make it in an Aeropress, ground at no. 4.
(My other Algerian favourites are their Yemeni for Turkish coffee, and their Monsoon Malabar, which is stunningly delicious.)
