Finest milk chocolate using the best Italian hazelnuts with a unique velvety texture. Ideal gift for any occasion.
In 1856 Pier Paul Caffarel introduced a new confectionery onto the market. Called Givu (stub' in Piedmontese dialect), this extraordinary new chocolate made of an aromatic chocolate mix in which part of the cacao has been replaced with the round and mild' hazelnuts that are a speciality of the Langhe area of Piedmont. Thus was born the original Turin Gianduiotto.
In 1865 during the Turin Carnival, Gianduia the masked character that is the official representative of the city hands out Caffarel Gianduiotti to the spectators of the carnival parade. On that same occasion, the character's name would become associated with the chocolate, so that henceforth Gianduiotto Caffarel would become known as Gianduia 1865. An absolute classic.
