Description

Genmaicha, meaning brown rice tea, is a blend of deep green Japanese Sencha leaves and toasted, popped rice to create a wonderful nutty aroma and flavour, with a pale yellow-green liquor.

Sencha Genmaicha dates back to 15th century Japan when tea was a luxury and mixing roasted rice with leftover tea leaves to made tea supplies last longer. The tea became popular among the Japanese people, and soon became a staple in daily life.

Sencha teas are rich in antioxidants, which may help to protect the body from damage caused by free radicals.

My Favourite Green Tea

This is quite an aromatic green tea with toasted and popped rice. I drink this in the morning, using two heaped teaspoons. It releases such fragrance. Delicious and a nice change from my usual organic green tea bags. I drink three cups of green tea daily as part of my health regimen as it has catechins with an anti tumour effect.

Something different.

Unusual taste to start with but once you get used to it it is an excellent brew. Very satisfying.
